On one of our long driving days home, (Monday, I think) we saw a sign for a Spam museum, run by the Hormel Foods Co. in Austin, Minnesota. We were so curious that we had to go in. Inside the door, we were greeted by the "Spambassador."
George Burns and Gracie Allen advertised for Spam. Anyone remember George Burns from the movie "Oh, God"? I think we'll watch that soon.
This is the wall of Spam. All those yellow stripes are stacks and stacks of boxes of Spam!
Did you know that there are, like, 30 varieties of Spam? Really! They include hickory flavor, black pepper, jalapeno, Spam with bacon, etc. They sound so good, don't they? But I'm pretty sure they're not. I don't think even hickory could alter the essence of Spam.
The Spam Train!
Did you know that Spam is really popular in Hawaii. Really popular. In fact, Hawaiians have the highest Spam consumption in the world, over 5 million pounds per year!
The day ended with a beautiful sunset.
